Small loop
The first day you follow road 16 to Paksong.
Pay attention for the following info:
The road starts as "road 13" from the roundabout next to the Lankham area.
After 8 kms this road has the name "road 16"
Its 50 kms strait.

You climb from 100 meters ASL to 1300 meters ASL, Paksong is the most of the time 10 degrees cooler then Pakse !!

Between km 38 and 42 are the waterfalls

At km 42 you can visit the tea factory
at km 50 is Paksong, travel info, wifi and coffee is available at koffie's shop with the big sign "COFFEE"

Day 2:
From Paksong to Tatheng - Tat Lo
Easy road from Paksong to Tatheng, at the roundabout in Tatheng you go strait.
THEY ARE BUSY WITH THE ROAD and you have to drive around 20 kms "off road" that takes some time....

At the end, in Ban Beng, you turn left, follow the road for 5 kms, between the market and the bridge you turn left. 1 km later you'll find the Tat Lo guesthouses and restaurants on the right side. (Dont over eat yourself at Mams Paps)

3th day from Tat Lo to Pakse is a peace of cake.

Big Loop
See for day 1 the small loop.

start EARLY when you drive the 70 kms from Paksong in the direction to Attapeu (or reversed)
DONT rent an off the road motorbike when you are not experienced. (or take a big first aid kit with you, not a joke)
The road on the Paksong side is BAD, type Kazachstan.
Take your time, its one of the most nicest scenerys from Laos. (former Ho Chi Minh Trail between 1970 and 1975)

After the village with the big antenna the road bends to the right, after 5 kms you have the choice to turn left, everybody has the idea to go strait, but here it is that you have to turn left.

Enjoy your ride from there, take some extra memory sticks for your camera + batteries.

At the end of the road you can tun left to Sekong, or right to Attapeu.
When you go to Sekong, stop at the first guest house you can find. In Sekong there are guesthouses, but the people over there like to play Petang instead of helping foreigners... :S

The road Attapeu - Sekong - Tatheng (Paksong) is supurb plaved.

For Tatheng to Tat Lo: read the small loop.

From Tat Lo to Pakse is a peace of cake.

Check the tires and brakes from your rented motorbike.
